Prior to our arrival in Pucon we headed to the Rio Trufultruful. We Traveled through an amazing National Park via the base of Volcan Llaima. The Rio Trufultrful was a great class 3-4 run with lots of action and minimal eddies. The run ended with a huge class 5+ rapid, which we all opted to take out above.
On our arrival in Pucon the following day, we found an awesome place to stay at kayak legend Robby Dastin´s house. We settled right in and helped with a little yard work. The next day we put on to the Rio Maichin, a great class 4-4+ run. The weather was warm and the water was clear, it turned out to be a fantastic day.
We started the next day with Wolf´s 28th birthday celebration by making pancakes for the group, and Lobo held true to his tradition by eating 28 pancakes before we went paddling. The pancakes got us fired up for some waterfalls leading us to the Rio Palguin, a class 4-5 section of waterfall paradise. The water levels were a little higher than optimal but a few of us still put on for Lobo´s birthday paddle. The run was stout and we boofed and plugged some huge drops. Girl Alex took her first swim of the trip in a hole in a box rapid with high adrenaline but minimal consequence. Tomorrow will bring rain and possibly some high water boating and hot springs to warm in.
Great pictures! I shared your blog with I Love Chile radio out of Santiago. A woman here at school, Carrie Burdick-Roldan recommended that you guys talk to him about getting exposure for your blog; his name is Dan Brewington. In fact, when you're back in Santiago, look him up. Also, Carrie's willing to interview you!!!
